I have tryed to do that style many times, and whatever you do, DO NOT use a curling iron unless it is very very very thick. Buy a volumizing hairspray, Aussie high volume+high hold is a very good hairspray found at drugstores. Buy a nice round brush and use your hair dryer. When your hair is wet, suse the round brush and wrap sections of your hair around it. Then while using the blow dryer to dry the hair while it is around the brush. When it is dry, spray the hairspray on the hair and then unroll it from around the brush. Or go to sally's beauty supply and buy medium velcro curlers and use those instead of a round brush.

last time i posted i didnt mension alot of details so i did it again. Im 13 years old male im in 8th grade and i have hair loss. My dad IS bald. I have lost way to much hair. I didnt think this was possible for a 13 year old boy to lose this much hair. I lost alot of hair and i got to much. I have almost a full beard. Like i have side burns big and i have hair on my chest at the age of 13. Its the dummest thing in the world. At some points i wish i were dead so all the things that are wronge with me end. I have to many problems in my body. Way to many. I used this medicine to rub my head which didnt work and so much otehr stuff. I started to put oil on my hair i hope that helps. My parents are really concerned they told me they will pay anyting but it has to work. That didnt work out for me. SO i hope u can help.

Your only 13 years old. You shouldn't be so angry with your self. I think hair loss probably runs in your family, its no big deal. Think about getting a natural hair transplant if you really, really, really want hair. What I dont understand is that you have a lot of facial hair, when you clearly state that you have hair losing problems. Try talking to a doctor, or a skin/ hair specialist. They can probably help you.

Does anybody know the best method of putting in hair extensions? A few years ago i had the big weft of hair glued in but it was hot on my head, stiff, and u couldn't really pull your hair up, so i wanna try the individual strands like Great Lengths or Cinderella because it seems those would be better if you wanted to put it in a ponytail, etc. From what i have researched so far it seems like the Cinderella extensions is what I'm looking for because I know I don't really want them braided in and with the Cinderella it's glued %26amp; heated.....whats the difference between cinderella and fusion? which is the best price and what does it usually cost? I suggest that u get the braided in weave because you may get a bit tired of the cinderella hair. I also believe that cinderella hair stays for a while which is a plus, but also is expensive and many places might not do that type of weave. Braided in weave in cheaper and looks really natural if done correctly. Anything with glue is more damaging regardless of the strength of your hair. Glue and heat to me = damage. Braided in is more healthy, I have it done, and my hair grew better that way. Glue pulled my hair out. Cinderella weave and to get it done probably can cost anywhere from $400-$600, remember you have to buy the hair and get it done, or get it done and pay more for a salon's hair. You can buy a nice grade of weft hair for about $25-50 a pack and get it done for $100-$150 at the salon.

i was the samw way. i never put my hair down and when i did it looked horrible. so i decided to get a haircut and it really helpes cuz i got split ends and junk from my hair always being up. so try getting a haircut and cutting a couple insches off then if its still poofy try a straightner.

Frizz ease worked for me but it is expensive once you buy all the steps and could be time consuming. I almost thought that you were describing my hair at first,LOL!Soooooo... I changed up and now ,honestly , I use cheap gel from wal-mart that smells good.Not to much cause then your hair will become stiff.My secret is that I flip my head down and using my hands i scrunch it, oh,and parting it is easier before the flip and scrunch,flip back to normal position.and continue to scrunch with hands to your desired position.You never know what works for me might work for you also,it never hurts to try!good luck!!!

There is a psychological disorder called Trichotillomania it comes in many forms. many people will pull out, twist or play with their hair obsessively (hair on any part of the body but mainly the head hair) There is medication out there if you get to a point where it's troublesome and you can't control yourself and/or you are causing harm to your body.

My best suggestion is after you get any dead end cut off of it and it's completely healthy... try relaxing it.... or even better... they have a service called The Japanese hair straightening method... where they run a flat iron over your hair and it just stays straight permanently.. it takes longer than relaxing, but it's less harsher on your hair. :)

Also, please dont do a chemically straighten your hair. That damages it more. Also, if your hair is naturally poofy, you will still need to straighten it after the chemicals. Its not "wash and go". Work is still required.

Well I have long hair myself so usually my hair is always like how it is in the picture. I also sometimes curl mine. If your hair is dark brown or black then you would probably look wonderful. I also straighten my hair as well. Its a great way to put your hair when you are'nt feeling dressy or when you are feeling kinda normal. Oh and like never wear your hair in a regular pony tail. It looks hiddious if you have long hair. If you would though, put it in a high pony tail and maybe put moose and a little bit of hairspray on it too

I tried everything: conditioners for dry hair, shampoos for dry hair, even wet look today. but nothing helps to moistoure my very curly dry hair. for the first hour they were nice and moist but after two hours they dries. today I used wet look and after two hours, my hair were dry and that gel was also dry and then I couldnt comb my hair.

well first of all i know what you mean, my hair gets dry during the winter and it sucks! and second of all don`t shave your head!! you can try going to sally beauty supply and buy loreal natures therapy mega moisture shampoo and conditioner (the conditioner is in a tube not a regular conditioner thing) and when you get out of the shower use a leave in conditioner like aussie hair insurance leave in conditioner and then if your hair still isnt behaving try all the above steps plus use special effects silk drops (its a leave in serum that controls frizz, dryness and adds shine you can buy it at shop-rite and i think wal-mart has them) good luck!

oh yeah and if you dont want to go to sally beauty supply try using suave professionals healthy curls shampoo and conditioner, it moisturizes while enhancing your curls.

Just remember that what works for some people may not work for others. Each person has a different chemical make-up, I find that Pantine ans Suave work very well on my hair...but when I wand it so be VERY soft and silky...I use the Angelica shampoo %26amp; conditioner plus the biosilk. When it comes to red, you'd be better off getting the extensions. When you dye hair red, it looks great at first but it fades really quickly, so for streaks that are a great red color all the time, the extensions would be much better.

maybe you should get the clip in first and try it to see if you really like it before you get it dyed. red isnt the hardest dye to get out, black is. if you didnt like it the red would probably fade, it usually does. it mostly depends on what your hair color is now. if you have dark hair it would be easier to dye back if you didnt like it. but it would work with blonde hair too. its not a really big change so i say go ahead and do it.

So I did something stupid: I put onion juice on my hair b/c I heard it will make my hair strong. BIG mistake. I already tried these remedies which didn't work..

1 scented shampoos

2. parsley paste

3. chamomile tea, black tea,

4. tomato paste

5. baking soda (smelled awful and made my hair feel weird but it didn't help) ~maybe baking powder would be different???

6. lemon juice (seemed to dry my hair and smell came right back and soon as I washed it out)

7. mouthwash with peroxide (yeah, i was desperate)

8. cinammon powder

9. cayenne powder (it made my scalp hot though!)

10. coffee and coffee grinds

why do you even think about it. go to a doctor that specializes with skin. tell him your story and he will decide the medicine-shampoo that will get rid of this smell. head and shoulders are great. visit the doctor or the pharmacy. im sure that they will find you cure.

It is a wonder you have any hair left if you put all those things on your hair....you might try this question under science and chemistry...you could try baby powder and sleep with a shower cap over it and wash the hair in the morning. I have been assurred that soaking in tomatoe juice works, however if you have no luck with that.....and this is the chemistry answer....hold a stainless steel soap which you can buy from a kitchen shop or you can use a stainless steel spoon on your head while you are rinsing the water over it, apparently the iodization that takes place is what removes the odour!?

if you haven't already get her to wet her hair thoroughly and add creme rinse work it in and leave it, work it in the area it is knotted and leave it, rinse and comb from the bottom of the hair not the scalp, this is done wrong so many times you always begin at the bottom of the hair holding the hair with the other hand so it doesn't pull at the scalp when you comb it through. Start with small strands, when you get to the knot try and loosen just a few strands at a time still holding the hair so your siste doesn't feel the tugging at the scalp, if this doesn't work or is starting to work you can purchase a product called no more tangles and spray it on the lock of hair each time you start a new one.

I would get a good deep conditioning treatment and detangler. See if that helps, hopefully it makes it able to be combed through. If that doesn't work, I would go the the salon and see if they had something that would work. Good luck!

I think if I where you I would start working on getting it untangled slowly and when you get a small amount out then I would braid it to keep it from getting knotted again. When we were younger my mom used to use a spray in our hair to get knots out. You could look for it in the store although I'm not sure what it would be called I'd start by looking around the Johnson and Johnson type products since I think it's more for kids.

i have very very long thick hair and i get knots that are really a worry.

The only way possible to get out a bad knot is to wash and then moiturise my hair with a good quality moisturiser.

then towel dry the hair and give it a good brushing. This will help to a point. when the hair is dry keep brushing it and you will notice that the knot will get smaller. Then i literally start to pull it apart. In some cases ive found a particular small knot that i cut out but generally the secret is to brush it often,and if possible plait the hair for your sister in bed so that if she tosses and turns the knots wont recur.

things like wind are deadly and dries out the hair. So too with a stove going. In a really bad case the hair can be dampened and some conditioer rubbed into hair, put a haircap over it and leave it for a while. At least an hour, then rinse out and start at it.

I cannot guarantee your sister will speak to you later on because it can be painful. I suggest you do a little at a time.

I will say that when this happens to me I have to say a few prayers before i stat because i hate it myself and at these times i have to pull myself back from getting the scissors and lopping it all off. To the day I havnt succumbed. good luck

This is going to sound a little silly...but I got on birth control at the age of 14. I have taken it fathfully ever since then too. Now I am 20 years old and just getting arm pit hair....could the birth control have delayed me getting it? Or is this just me? I don't know....I got everything else well before I was 14...so....do you you think it's just that I was lucky or what? If you don't think it was the birthcontrol what could of affected it?

I think you were just lucky, I don't think the pill had anything to do with it. If you can afford it, laser hair removal is great. They will tell you it takes 4-6 treatments, but I have had 8 treatments and may need one more. And it took I think a couple of years to get there, because in the beginning, the treatments are 2 months apart, then after the 5th or 6th trreatment, they are 4 months apart. You'll still have to shave between treatments, but not as much, and after each treatment, less and less grows back. Mine are almost bare, I love it!

I've noticed, me being only 14 and all, that whenever a person has long hair (me included), the dead hair gets stuck in the hair. Also, longer hair weighs more, and so ... pulls our more hair. This doesn't mean that you're losing your hair. It just means that if you, once in a while only (even two days worth) comb your head, it appears more hair is falling out than it should be.

However, when normal hair falls out, it means that your hair is dead, and broke off. The root is still there. Receding hairlines and baldness are cause when your hair ROOT is weakening and/or dying. The cell is being weakend, and there is nothing (or almost nothing) you can do about it. It's all genetics. No matter how much you try, you can't change those.

Although some people might argue that short hair causes less strain on the roots, that's pretty much bs. If you "empty" out your hair once a month or two (well, for me, it's every two weeks cause my hair grows fast. It's like it's ALIVE!!! :P), that wouldn't cause as much "stress" on the roots. Our hair is supposed to be able to support huge weights. If this is true, then every woman should have basically no hair. Long or short, it's just genetics.

SO basically, if you want to keep it long and big, go ahead, do it. If you think that a shorter style fits you better, then you can just get a hair cut. (I wouldn't recommend it, cause after i cut my hair, i was almost arrested for not getting a "visitor" badge at my school ... didn't believe i was who i said i was).

P.S. just look at your parents. Which parents hair looks like yours more? Is your dad's, for example, frizzy, and you mom's straight? Well, this way, if you have straight hair, the same thing that happens to them when they get to the 40's will happen to YOU!!!! (duh duh duuuuh) ....

But again, good nourishment also never hurt anyone.

i learned in 9th grade biology that baldness is hereditary but usually from the mother to the son so if you mom's side is safe then you should be, i shed a lot of hair and i never have noticed any thinning so you might just shed a lot like i do plus if you go a while between combings then of course you'l get a lot of sheddage when you do comb

before you go to work smooth on a pominaide (like a john frieda wax, or the jonathan product 'dirt'). use a small amount, rub your palms together to disperse and warm the product. then rake your fingers through your hair starting at the underneath sections first. becareful not to use to much or your hair will get to heavy and become flat. concentrate the product on the ends and through the middle sections of the hair.

Before straightening your hair the night before, put some anti-frizz and leave in conditioner in your hair. Then try using a straighten iron one more time before work to get rid of frizz. Also, for more tame, use a shine spray or hair wax (if you have layers).

You could try relaxing it. You can get a relaxer at Walmart in the same isle all the hair dyes are. I've never done it, however, so you might want to check further into how it works.

Before drying your hair use a straightening gel or mousse. This will control it some when you blow dry it. Make sure you blow dry it as straight as possible. Use an anti-frizz spray once it is completely dry and brush it through. Then flat iron it before going to bed. If you have time to flat iron it again in the morning, I strongly recommend it. If not, spray it with a Max hold hair spray. Brush it through. In the morning, you'll probably have to flat iron some problem areas. Spray it again with anti-frizz spray and light hair spray. Try to avoid putting your windows down in your car. Whatever humidity in the air will cause your hair to "poof." Good luck.

Why don't you try to work with your curly hair instead of fighting it? There are so many good anti-frizz and curling agents that don't make your hair crunchy or anything. Frizz-ease by John Frieda works well for me. I also really like the new Sunsilk products I use both the anitpoof and the de-frizz. They also have straightening products. I just know from experience how hard it is to get and keep curly hair straight.

My hair is naturally thick and dark. It's about 3 inches past the bra strap across my back, I like to keep it long. Right now I have long layers in it. My hair is also naturally wavy but I find it looks best when I flat iron it and wear it straight. What I do is blow dry it dry then use the Chi (best flat iron ever!), that way I still have lots of body in my hair. Wearing it this way allows it to shine and since it's thick it stays healthy a long time despite the heat I put it through.

It makes no sense, she'll scratch her head for 10 minutes, like I did...And more advice you probably don't want...lose the bangs, they're lame. Unless youre 2 years old and it's your first portrait in a velvet suit...

I can style it and make it look good, but hairspray won't hold it. I'm currently using Avon or sometimes White Rain or most of the time Big Sexy Hair. It is 80 to 100% humidity where I live, so this type of hair when growing out balls up like a cotton ball if I don't stay in air conditioned environment. There's GOT to be a hairspray out there that holds in Louisiana humidity. If you know of one, I will invest STOCK in it if it works!!!!!! My hair is fine thin and SUPER soft and hard to hold a style. I get it looking great in the a.m. but by about 6 or 7 p.m. it's S#$@%.

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

You need more protein. Eat fruits and vegetables such as oranges, pears, avacadoes, and bananas to make your hair healthier. Also avoid ubjecting your hair to a lot of heat, avoid ponytails if possible (use banana clips instead of hair ties), condition well, massage your scalp.Also see a doctor or hairdresser for ways to stimulate your scalp more. Olive oil conditioner stimulates roots and encourages growth. Also, avoid excessive brushing and combing, and tight hairdos.

When you are losing hair, it is not because of styling products (normal ones) it is either a serious health condition, or you are exaggerating the problem a little bit. Now I will say some things done to your hair can cause severe BREAKAGE, but not complete baldness! (i.e. perming, excessive use of heat, etc.) Maybe you should seek medical attention. If you are exaggerating, it is completely normal to lose up to 400 strands of hair a day, especially in the summer. Good luck!

Three things.

1. First, go to the doctor. It is always possible there is some medical problem causing this.

2. Hair loss is usually genetic. Look at your family, especially the men on your mother's side. Did they lose their hair early? If so, then you likely will too. It is hereditary in most cases, and there is nothing you can do about that.

3. If you are not bold enough to embrace it (Bruce Willis, for example, looks better now bald than he did when he had hair), then there are products you can try to get it to come back. Rogaine works pretty good, though it is icky and difficult to use. There are also pills and other options. Try talking to your doctor about these options, or visit a dermatologist.

Does hair loss run in your family? Are you sure about the quantity? Ask a friend/ family's opinion. I would look at exactly how much hair is on your pillow in the morning, how much is on the drain of your shower/bathtub daily. With this information, a doctor would probably give you the best advice. Golds, coppers and darker shades of brown (with a little flex of gold shimmer) are beautiful on darker skin. For fuller lips liner is not needed, but shiny sheer tones for lip gloss are great. And a little black mascara couldn't hurt. But all the makeup in the world doesn't matter until you put some confidence behind it.

A person should wash their hair at the most, once a day.

In all honesty, every other day....or even every three days is much better for your hair.

You've literally washed away every bit of protection that you've naturally made for your hair!

For the next few weeks, if you actually stop washing your hair but once a day or every other day....in the beginning, you're going to hate your hair. It will feel extremely greasy, icky and gross. Just hang in there.....it will get normal again, but STOP washing it so much.

I bet your hair is very clean ... he he... but unfortunately it's not feeling to healthy right now. I have a few tips that might help you with your hair as your nurse it back to health.

I suggest, as many of the other answers have said, to cut back to shampooing every other day or every third day. Unless you are sweating excessively (or rolling around in the dirt) your hair isn't getting that dirty anyway.

I don't suggest going into a phase of conditioning it excessively in an attempt to put moisture back in. Conditioners are a double bladed sword in the sense that conditioning the hair is great but it's easy to over condition it as well. Over conditioned hair tends to be lifeless and almost too soft. A little olive or vegetable oil left in the hair for about thirty minutes once a week will give you some moisture back and help with the dryness.

In addition, it is helpful to brush your hair with a boar hair bristle brush. The boar hairs actually distribute your scalps natural oils to the shafts of your hair and help to protect your locks.

Let your hair 'breathe' for awhile, as well. Don't blow dry it unneccesarily and definately don't attack it with a hot iron. Hair products can be full of drying chemicals, so avoid them for awhile if neccesary.

Finally, you might try taking flax seed vitamins. Check to make sure that they are alright for you to take (and I say this because I'm not a doctor, he he), and if so try taking one to two caplets a day. Flax seed serves multiple functions, but one thing that it does is bring natural moisture to the skin and scalp.

ok this is what i suggest. Go to like CVS or any good drug store. Go to the hairproducts section (duh lol ) anyways go to garnier fructis ( or you can go to another brand, they all pretty much work) and get deap conditioner cream or damage shampoo and conditioner. They work sooo well. I always straighten by hair and its all gross, i use that stuff and it makes it silky and smooth and easier to straighten. GOOD LUCK

first.. i am a licensed cosmetologist. color does not lighten color. your hair must feel like straw at this point.! i would not go to sally's beauty supply %26amp; try to do it yourself, i don't even think they sell hair color there since it is for the public. go to a respectable salon in your area %26amp; get a semi permanent color applied in a medium brown (something with a ash in it to cut the red %26amp; orange) redkin's sades EQ works awesome %26amp; makes your haor feel great! its not going to be want you want it to be at 1st... but be patient with it, get ur hair back into shape using a very heavy moisturizing conditioner %26amp; then get a full foil highlight at a good salon! its worth the $$ after this mess!!

Wow. Your hair has been through alot. My advise would be to start over completely. Go to Sally Beauty Supply and buy a hair bleach kit or look for Color Oops, it strips all color from your hair to its lightest possible shade without bleach so you can redye it the same day. Once you strip the color out, redye it with the color you want and if you still want highlights, wait a few days for your scalp to recover and go to a salon to have them done. No more SuperCuts, they suck. Try Regis if you have it there or BoRicks. Good Luck. Oh. p.s. Color Oops can be found at Wal-Green's for 13$ for the extra strength, which is probably what you will need.
