So I did something stupid: I put onion juice on my hair b/c I heard it will make my hair strong. BIG mistake. I already tried these remedies which didn't work..

1 scented shampoos

2. parsley paste

3. chamomile tea, black tea,

4. tomato paste

5. baking soda (smelled awful and made my hair feel weird but it didn't help) ~maybe baking powder would be different???

6. lemon juice (seemed to dry my hair and smell came right back and soon as I washed it out)

7. mouthwash with peroxide (yeah, i was desperate)

8. cinammon powder

9. cayenne powder (it made my scalp hot though!)

10. coffee and coffee grinds

11. apple cider vinegars soaks

PLEASE HELP.

Please answer if you know about conteracting the chemistry of onion odor on the scalp and hair! Thank you!

why do you even think about it. go to a doctor that specializes with skin. tell him your story and he will decide the medicine-shampoo that will get rid of this smell. head and shoulders are great. visit the doctor or the pharmacy. im sure that they will find you cure.

Try soaking your head with buttermilk and then shampoo really well. Repeat if necessary! ha ha!

It is a wonder you have any hair left if you put all those things on your hair....you might try this question under science and chemistry...you could try baby powder and sleep with a shower cap over it and wash the hair in the morning. If you are taking garlic pills they will come out in your skin and sweat glands...

Another veggie-head idea gone wrong! Good luck. I think would try tomato juice . . . I know it is great for removing skunk odours from dogs or persons who got sprayed.

Since it's acidic, try something exactly the same but less gull of odor. Radishes are incredibly potent yet don't have that crazy potent stank. I gave you a link below to all the acidic foods that are similiar to onions in strength.

I have been assurred that soaking in tomatoe juice works, however if you have no luck with that.....and this is the chemistry answer....hold a stainless steel soap which you can buy from a kitchen shop or you can use a stainless steel spoon on your head while you are rinsing the water over it, apparently the iodization that takes place is what removes the odour!?

Get a good scented conditioner. Put it on your hair and scalp. Leave it for some hours. Rinse and let your hair dry naturally with out a hair dryer.
