How do i get my hair to hold curl?

Ive tried everything..body perm and gel and hairspray, professional irons, nothing works, i want to be able to do my hair in big soft curls, i dont want stiff hair that doesnt move at all, but even when iuse hot rollers i leave them in for hours and when i take them out...nothing, straight as a board!!

Well, I don't know exactly what type of hair you have, but I can tell you that anything that adds texture to your hair will add hold to your curls. I have baby fine hair, but a LOT of it.... so I get highlights every 3 months, and never, ever use conditioner. I use a salon quality moisturizing shampoo, and no conditioner...not even a 2 in 1 product. I spray my hair in 2 inch sections with a heat setter spray.... like Got 2 Be... then again with a medium hold spray...like Aussie Sprunch spray... then set with hot rollers for 15 mins.... take out rollers, fix with fingers as desired, and spritz in place... believe it or not, it still doesn't look the least bit sticky or stiff... if you have thick hair.. try this process but with much less hair in each curler. ... You're gonna look gorgeous!!!

do you have very thin or fine hair?

that might be the problem! If your hair isnt thick or have any "body" to it,then it will not hold! Also i heard for caucasian women that you should not wash your hair 1-2 days before you curl it..

My hair holds curls better, if I don't use conditioner! I use reflex spray by Lanza while my hair is a bit damp and then roll my hair in non heated curlers until dry, low heat dryer or over night and spray again.

if you want a perfect curl thats NOT stiff, but stays you should definatley consider searching for Nick Chavez hairspray...it gives your hair beautiful volume and curl AND it still keeps you hair soft. Its amazing!
