I have a giant knot in my hair and i need to get it out?

ive tried combing it while wet, putting shampoo in it to try detangling it with my fingers and brushing it but nothing happens and its pretty big. when my hairs in a ponytail the part thats not tied is where the knot is and it makes my hair look very messy.

You have to attack the knot one section at a time working from the outside down towards your head. Try a wide tooth comb or a pick to ease the hair out. Do not do this while your hair is wet as it is at it's most fragile state.

If this doesn't work I'd head to a hairdresser who may assist you.

If it wont come out with your hair soaked down with conditioner you may need to go to a salon to get it cut out.

Also try oil from the kitchen or mayo...anything real oily may help separate the hair strands.

Spray in a lot of leave in conditioner and try and brush it. How did you get a knot that big?! You might have to get it cut out....

when your in the shower put lots and lots of conditioner in your hair, leave it for a few minutes and then try combing it while the conditioner is still in.

You should try conditioner instead of shampoo because it smoother and easier to comb out. When you're trying to get the knot out go slowly and use your time.

Are you starting in the middle and trying to get it out? If so... STOP!

Get it soaking wet with some sort of conditioner then take a comb and start at the bottom and gently - GENTLY - comb it out. Very small sections at a time... patience.... much patience is needed.
