Oh, the dreaded cowlick! (yes, that's how it's spelled).
If it's right on top, best thing to do is get a hair style where the top and bangs are kinda messy and sticking out at all angles, so she can use gel or mousse and just have other strands stand up too. No matter what you use, it is really hard to tame a cowlick. The other thing to do is for her to grow her hair out long.
My biggest cowlick is right at the front on the hairline to the left side. I just have to adapt hairstyles to it. I also have a big one at the back at the nape of the neck, so I can't wear the back too short or it just flips over on one side.
They are truly, strange things to have. I'm 46 and when I look back in kid pics of me, there are the cowlicks, doing their thing! When it was the fad to have bangs straight across in front, my mom would tape my bangs down when they were wet in HOPE the cowlick would lie flat. Too much trouble!

Part it a bit different so that the hair on top of it makes it lie flat.

you have to kinda go with calics, they tend to look even worse if you go aginst them....tell her to try to go with a wavy look rather thatn a bone straight look.....that is way to hard for someone with a calic to pull off.....

use a tiny bit of gell. and if that doesnt work than ask her hair stylest.

i am not so sure of what a calic is but i am thinking it is a strand of hair sticking up ....maybe gel, hairspray, moose....for it to settle down?

OK. This used to happen to me all of the time and here is what I did to get rid of it... I bought a very thin hair straightener and I changed shampoos and gel. Also make sure that if she uses conditioner that she does not put in too much because that could also be the problem. Hope I helped!

I have a cowlick and it used to be a pain. You have to "train" your hair to do what you want. With mine, I used a straightening iron. I ran it with the angle of my cowlick, but to keep it from sticking up in that dredful curl, I pulled straight down on it. I use smoothing gel, too. But it didn't just go away in one fix. It takes a while to "train" your hair. Eventually, it will do what you want it to.
