long hair always makes someones head look more narrow and small. I would keep it long w/ layers, and ask them to thin out "to thick" problem areas (usually on the sides by the ears).

a great type of haircut with the size of head and thick hair what you need to do DONT do a short haircut what you need is first get some layers depending on if you want your hair to your shoulders or the middle of your back get medium to long layers and just a few shorter layers on the top for some added body. face frame your face where theres layers starting from under the chin and down unless you have bangs and want it to blend then you do it from your cheekbones and down. Also you could also get your hair thinned out with thinning shears so its not so thick for you. thats what i recommend. Me Ive done plenty of those haircuts cut hair for a living. hope this helps you
